BJP Member of Parliament Nishikant Dubey addressed the controversy surrounding the NEET-UG paper leak on Thursday, cautioning that some students should not use the incident as a scapegoat for underperformance. Dubey suggested that certain students might attempt to persuade their parents that their potential success was thwarted by the breach. He emphasized the importance of achieving success in competitive fields like medicine, engineering, or civil services through education and personal merit.
During discussions at the Parliament Monsoon Session, Dubey underscored the government’s firm stance on the issue, noting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s insistence on stringent punishment for those involved in the paper leak. Modi has advocated for the 13 individuals arrested to be swiftly tried in fast-track courts, asserting that the perpetrators who jeopardize students’ futures must be held accountable and will not evade justice.
In response to the ongoing situation, the government has expressed its willingness to engage with the protesting groups. Union ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh have extended invitations to the demonstrators, encouraging them to hold discussions at their official offices or residences to address their concerns.
However, the protests continue to gain momentum, with demonstrators demanding accountability for the NEET paper leak. They have called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and outlined plans for peaceful demonstrations across the nation to press their demands further.
