China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks concerning their boundary issues, as highlighted by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun. During a regular press briefing on Tuesday, Guo emphasized the ongoing dialogue between the two nations on border matters, noting their commitment to implementing agreements forged in the prior discussions.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is currently in New Delhi, participating in the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. In the course of his visit, Wang had a meeting with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Monday, underscoring the continued diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
Guo stated that the situation along the China-India border remains stable, with communication channels between the nations functioning smoothly. Both countries are actively putting into practice the consensus reached during the 24th round of boundary discussions, he added, highlighting a mutual interest in maintaining peace and stability along the frontier.
The forthcoming talks are anticipated to sustain efforts aimed at managing and resolving border issues, reinforcing the importance of dialogue in maintaining harmonious relations between the world’s two most populous countries.
