China Urges Enhanced Tech Collaboration with India to Boost Bilateral Ties

During a recent meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of bolstering cooperation between China and India, advocating for the maintenance of positive momentum in their bilateral relations. Speaking with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Wang highlighted the necessity for both nations to boost high-level exchanges and broaden their partnership in areas such as trade, media, cultural activities, and people-to-people interactions. He also stressed the importance of addressing sensitive issues through dialogue.

Wang underscored the need for China and India to work closely on regional and international matters, suggesting that their collaboration could promote multipolarity and serve the interests of developing countries. Additionally, he reaffirmed China’s backing for India as it hosts this year’s BRICS summit, advocating for increased cooperation within the expanded BRICS framework.

In response, Jaishankar conveyed India’s dedication to fostering a positive and cooperative relationship with China. He reiterated India’s longstanding stance on sensitive topics like Taiwan and Xizang (Tibet), confirming India’s respect for China’s sovereignty over these regions.

The meeting between the two foreign ministers represents ongoing efforts to stabilize and deepen the relationship between China and India, following recent positive developments in their bilateral ties. Both sides appear committed to enhancing collaboration across various domains, demonstrating a mutual interest in strengthening their strategic partnership.
