In a bid to bolster economic engagement and enhance strategic cooperation, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri embarked on a visit to the United Arab Emirates from November 1–2. His visit underscores the commitment of both nations to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
During his stay in Abu Dhabi, Misri held discussions with UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem Al Hashimy. Their talks focused on strengthening collaboration across various sectors, exploring new opportunities for partnership, and exchanging perspectives on regional and global developments.
Misri also met with Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for cultural exchange and closer institutional cooperation, with particular attention given to the proposed House of India museum. This initiative seeks to showcase Indian art, history, and heritage, while also promoting tourism between the two countries.
Furthering economic ties, Misri engaged in discussions with Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Finance and group CEO of L’Imad Holding Company. Their conversation revolved around increasing investment flows, expanding economic engagement, and developing long-term commercial partnerships.
The visit highlights the robust ties between India and the UAE, as both countries actively seek to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, culture, and strategic affairs. These discussions reflect a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and identifying new areas for collaboration.
