Putin’s Eurasia Doctrine: Indivisible Security and Economic Integration

Date:

Vladimir Putin has articulated a clear “Eurasia Doctrine” ahead of the SCO Summit, based on the twin pillars of indivisible security and deep economic integration. This doctrine outlines a vision for the supercontinent to become a cohesive and self-reliant geopolitical center of power.
The security pillar is the creation of an “architecture of equal and indivisible security.” This concept, which Putin will promote at the summit, calls for a collaborative framework where SCO members work together to ensure regional stability, rejecting the bloc-based mentality of the Cold War era.
The economic pillar is driven by the powerful Russia-China partnership. It involves reducing trade barriers, investing in cross-continental infrastructure, and, critically, de-dollarizing trade to secure financial independence. The goal is to create a vast, integrated market that can drive global growth.
This comprehensive doctrine is Putin’s answer to what he sees as a failing Western-led world order. By proposing a concrete plan for security and prosperity centered on Eurasia, he is offering a compelling alternative to the leaders gathering in Tianjin, aiming to make the SCO the primary vehicle for this ambitious continental project.
